Industrial Automation / Systems Integration

TCS is a leading New Zealand industrial automation and technology company with software engineering capabilities that range from small standalone controllers through to fully integrated and complex industrial systems.

Project management is a key ingredient to the success that TCS has with its projects regardless of the size of the job.  TCS project managers take time to understand a customer’s business processes and work closely with its customer’s people to fully outline and document the project requirements prior to starting any project.  Project management also includes liaison with the other project suppliers to ensure that the customer’s requirements are completely understood by all and that everyone is working to the same end goal.

TCS works with some of the leading industries throughout New Zealand.  It prides itself on still having some of the same customers today that it started out with over 24 years ago.  TCS has seen these industries grow and has helped them meet their challenges and needs as technology has changed throughout that time.

CANPAC International (formally New Zealand Dairy Packers Ltd) was the first customer for TCS.  CANPAC has seen major growth and is still the most fully integrated plant of the Fonterra group.  TCS has been involved with all areas within this plant, which now consists of four high speed powder packing lines, eleven sachet packing lines, a blending tower, can manufacturing plant, robotic palletising, and bin tipping equipment. TCS is also responsible for having all areas of the plant integrated with the IT data management system (RenCS).

TCS is a primary provider for Fonterra and supplies key services to automate the materials handling equipment by integrating 3rd party manufacturers’ products into fully automated systems. These services are provided to over 15 Fonterra sites throughout New Zealand. TCS compliments these installations with its own innovative products that have been developed to meet the Fonterra requirements and standards.

At Ballance Agri-Nutrients TCS provides the controls for the dispatch plants to accurately load onto the trucks the correct amount of fertiliser with the correct mix of additives to meet the farmers requirements.  TCS also provides the integration of the dispatch plant activities with the IT department to ensure an electronic transfer of information in real-time.

TCS has provided software automation and engineering for the meat industry.  TCS worked in one of the most sophisticated processing plants in the southern hemisphere.  Canterbury Meat Packers at Rangatikei is the pinnacle of meat processing automation for integrated planning with the slaughter floor, chillers, cutting floor and onto the packing area, giving unparalleled flow and traceability for every cut of meat through the plant.

Over the years TCS has worked with some of New Zealand’s leading engineering companies for automated machinery manufacturing.  These companies include Avalon Engineering, JMP Engineering, Haden & Custance, Scott Technologies, Mercer Engineering, Niro/GEA Group, and RML.  The equipment TCS automated for these and many other companies ranged from the very simple to the extremely complex and has been sold both here in New Zealand and throughout the world, creating millions of export dollars for the companies and New Zealand.

As the name TCS states we are about technology concepts and solutions that are innovative and tailored to meet the needs and wants of our customers.  TCS prides itself in being able to work collaboratively with allied companies and also competitors.  TCS believes that collaboration is often the best way to succeed for its customer and it has worked on many occasions with other companies to compliment their expertise and deliver on projects that have been too large or complex for any single New Zealand company.
