#19 - More Traceability and Control with Less Hardware and Engineering
Most industries struggle to incorporate traceability into plant and management operation due to the software complexity, the limitations of the PLC hardware, and the cost. Re-engineering or upgrading hardware and software to meet traceability needs is usually ad hoc, expensive, and often requires a large amount of downtime. Now, using distributed intelligence technology, there is a new industrial trraceability solution (DI solution) that is fast, robust, very cost effecitive, and ensures seamless integration with ERP/MES databases, plant floor automation, PLCs, and with multi-vendor devices.
